About customer points
Who can give customer points?
Customer points are points given by customers, i.e. the
users of the system (investors). Principally any user
of the system can give customer points but there might
of course be some restrictions so that not all user groups
are allowed to give points to the analysts.
Essential things about customer points
Only points with comment included on Company Views average
points
In Company Views pages users can see the average customer
points. Only the points with comments are included.
Users can also give points without comments but as they
are not very reliable, they are just collected to the
database and can be seen only on All Companies Points
page. Points without comments are not included in many
other things like in deciding which analysts are the best
and get most revenues from the research.
Points on Company Views pages updated once a day
When you rate the analysis, you can see the points immediately
in the All Companies Points page. However, points are
updated to Company Views pages only once a day (at night).
Where can I browse points?
You can see all given points on All Companies Analysis
points page. There you can also see comments given within
points, compare any company to other companies easily,
get a list of companies sorted by the average points given
etc. If you click on points, you go into the points page
and thereby you only have to change the options in the
menu and click other links on the page to get different
points, levels, details etc.
What kind of scale is used in customer points?
Currently we use the following scale:
+3
(excellent)
+2
(very good)
+1
(good)
-1
(poor)
-2
(very poor)
-3
(lousy)
However, the true scale of the points is actually the
percentage describing the relative position of the analysis
compared to other analysis. So if a company analysis has
a percentage of e.g. 76%, it means that this analysis
is ranked (by the customers) as better than 76% of all
other analysis in the system.
So, you can use (also) this percentage ranking as you
give points to analysis: if you think that an individual
analysis is worth more or less than its current position
(current percentage), then you can "fix the situation
from your part" by giving it more or less points
as it currently has on average. So this relative position,
i.e. the percentage is a kind of "assisting scale
pointer" which helps you identify the scale used
by other customers and place your own points correspondingly:
if all users would use a very different scale, it would
be hard to give comparable points to analysts.
